Most abundant metal in Earth's crust. Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, infinitely recyclable. Element 13, Aluminium (Al), is a Post-Transition Metal found in period 3, group 13. As a post-transition metal it is fairly soft with a low melting point, turning up in alloys, solders and coatings.

With 3 electrons in its outermost shell, Aluminium bonds accordingly; full configuration [Ne] 3s² 3p¹, electronegativity 1.61. At room temperature it is normally a solid; it melts near 933.47 K (660.3 °C), boils near 2792 K (2518.9 °C), has a density around 2.7 g/cm³.
