Highly radioactive synthetic element. Named after Niels Bohr. Bohrium (Bh) holds position 107 in the periodic table, a Transition Metal in period 7, group 7. As a transition metal it commonly shows several oxidation states, forms coloured compounds, and is widely used in catalysts and alloys.
Its electron configuration is [Rn] 5f¹⁴ 6d⁵ 7s², with 2 electrons in the outer shell. Its physical state follows from its melting and boiling points; it has a density around 37.1 g/cm³.
