Heaviest known element. Named for Yuri Oganessian, the only person with an element named for him during his lifetime. Oganesson (Og) is a Noble Gas with atomic number 118, located in period 7, group 18. As a noble gas it has a full outer shell, is extremely unreactive, and exists as a monatomic gas at room temperature.
With 8 electrons in its outermost shell, Oganesson bonds accordingly; full configuration [Rn] 5f¹⁴ 6d¹⁰ 7s² 7p⁶. At room temperature it is normally a solid (a very low melting point); it melts near 325 K (51.9 °C), boils near 450 K (176.9 °C), has a density around 7 g/cm³.
